Special Session on Social Robotics and Art for Health at ICSR 2026

Thomas Sievers is co-organizer of a special session "Social Robotics and Art for Health" at the 18th International Conference on Social Robotics in July 2026.

This session explores the intersection of social robotics, artistic practice, and healthcare delivery, emphasizing how robotic systems — embodied with tailored cognitive abilities — can communicate empathetic behavior through art-inspired mannerisms. The goal of this session is to bring together researchers from social robotics, human-robot interaction, art and design, healthcare and therapy, interactive media and performance studies — to challenge and re-imagine how robots can participate in healthcare not only as tools but as expressive, relational entities embedded in creative, caring ecosystems.
