Models for human intelligent Assistance zu CS4521-KP 12 (CCS)

Dozent: Prof. Dr. Nele Rußwinkel

Content

The course provides an overview and insight into various modeling approaches for intelligent assistance. It is also relevant to human-robot interaction and prosthetic robotics. These approaches each represent or simulate different aspects of human beings. Depending on the requirements, appropriate methods are selected and presented by individual experts.

Among others, the following topics are (expected to be) presented by experts:

  •     Tutor systems for learning facts
  •     Musculoskeletal models
  •     Prosthetic robotics
  •     Simulation of group movements/decisions
  •     Ergonomic human models

The first part of the semester focuses on imparting relevant background knowledge and identifying problem areas in the research field of intelligent assistance and modeling. Students will be assigned specific topics and provided with materials. Those assigned to each topic will prepare a presentation for the third part of the semester based on the expert lectures—including, for example, specific questions and analyses.

In the second part of the semester, the experts will present their topics either virtually or in person, followed by time for questions and discussion.

In the third part of the semester, students will present their perspectives on the respective topic area, drawing on the expert lectures and their own research, and discuss relevant points with the other participants. The goal is to be able to summarize the “state of the art” in the topic areas related to “Models for Human Intelligent Assistance,” as well as to outline the limitations, future developments, and requirements.
